Nick Bernhard-Trainer/Owner
My Name is Nick Bernhard, Owner and head strength coach of Crossfit 225. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge and proud to call it home. From a young age, I was involved in team and competitive sports. My father was a college baseball player and I always aspired to one day compete at that level. I have been involved in many aspects of sports from the normal team sports of football, basketball, and baseball, all the way to mixed martial arts, obstacle course runs, and motocross. At the age of 18, I enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantry soldier and later found Crossfit through some guys in my unit. I tried to incorporate the training style into my workouts as much as possible to stay in the best shape I could. After discharging from the Army, I went back to the normal routine workouts. After a while, I felt like I needed more, the same routines day in and day out were not doing anything for me. I met my wife Catherine and we began doing crossfit together. I immediately felt like crossfit was where i belonged. The rest is pretty much history from there on. After doing crossfit for a while, I began to realize it was becoming my life, not just a hobby anymore. That is when I decided that I wanted to get more involved, not only as an athlete but as a coach. I knew that crossfit was changing my life for the better by helping me live a healthier and happier life. I decided that I wanted to help others to achieve their max potential so I pursued my level 1 trainers certificate and haven’t looked back since then. Crossfit has made an extreme impact on my life in such a positive way that I want the rest of the world to reap the benefits that it has to offer. Since I started crossfit, I have evolved into the best me that I have ever been. I have successfully completed the following trainers courses.
- Crossfit Level 1 Cert. (Crossfit Strong Dallas, Tx)
- Crossfit Powerlifting (Crossfit BMI Tampa, FL)
- Crossfit Strong Man (Crossfit Central Austin, Tx)
